My very 1st Bonsai! Ginseng Ficus - Questions, tips, or feedback - Total Newb
This is my very first bonsai, a ficus ginseng.I believe. It was purchased from costco , and i've had it about three months. It is located in a second story , northeast facing window and gets plenty of bright sun throughout the day. I water it once a week about a cup of water and it seems to be doing really good.
I've been doing some light reading on it , but I do have some questions being totally new to bonsai , and this being my first tree
When watering the green moss around the base seems to prevent water from seaping in, though it does seep in eventually just curious. If this is an issue , I just water , it real slowly...
The soil it came with seems fine. But just curious , if there are any special needs as far as soil goes , it's doing good , just curious...
The pot it is in has no holes in the bottom. Is that an issue for drainage? But weekly watering has seemed fine so far ,
Regarding pruning, any tips or feedback? It seems pretty bushy, not really sure what to do there. So , any tips or feedback would be great in regards to pruning or any strategies as such
Thanks in advance for any feedback or tips.I'm really liking the tree so far and am really excited about the prospect of getting into bonsai
