Online Solitaire Feels Convenient… But Physical Cards Feel More Satisfying?

Been playing solitaire almost daily for a while now, and I realized I enjoy online and physical cards for completely different reasons.

Online solitaire is just super convenient. I can play a quick game during breaks, undo moves, try different variations, and not worry about shuffling. It’s fast and relaxing.

But physical solitaire with real cards feels way more satisfying somehow. The sound of shuffling, laying out the cards, actually moving them around — it feels more immersive and less “screen time.”

I still switch between both depending on my mood.

Curious what other regular solitaire players prefer:

Online solitaire or physical cards? And why?

I’ve been playing Spider Solitaire for a while now, and I see a lot of new players getting stuck early. So here are a few simple tips that actually helped me win more games:

  • Don’t deal new cards too quickly. Always try to make every possible move first. Dealing too early can ruin your setup.
  • Empty columns are super valuable. Try to clear at least one column as soon as you can — it gives you space to move cards around.
  • Build sequences in the same suit whenever possible. Mixed suits might help short-term, but they’ll block you later.
  • Think a few moves ahead. Sometimes the obvious move isn’t the best one.
  • If a move doesn’t help you uncover hidden cards or build sequences, it’s probably not worth it.

Also, not every game is winnable, so don’t stress if you lose — it’s part of the game.
