Took my guy to a dog beach and he nearly ran off - he seems to want to explore.

He doesn't straight up "book it" - but he will run away and find someone or something to sniff - at which point I can catch up and grab his leash.

Curious if this is something that can be trained in this breed.

He's 1/2 Great Pyr and a mix of like 8 other breeds.
