How to deal with a dying fandom

So I've been to multiple fandoms and recently fell in love with a specific pair from a show that got a second season this year. It has a decent amount of fics from the first season, but nowadays it's almost crickets.

The most hits I've got on my works is less than 300 and even though I've written only 4 fics in 2 months, they're all on the first page on AO3.

Have you been through something like this? I still love the shipping, the source material and I might write more, but I feel like I'm screaming into a void.

Sometimes I consider writing for bigger fandoms, but it'd be mostly for clout. I've also thought about promoting my fics, but I'm no influencer. I just wanted the fandom alive, esp bc I barely know anyone there and the loneliness is difficult to handle.

Motivation to get back to writing

Hey guys, so I've some WIPs that have been sitting on my drive for a while. I kinda know where I want to go with them, but I've lost the mental state to just keep going and finish the story. It doesn't help that they aren't going well engagement wise too (they're long fics I've published a few chapters already) so I wanted to ask what do you usually do to keep yourself going!

Sad bc I didn't get comments

It's just a dumb vent, but please bear with me.

I write for a rarepair in a surprisingly dying fandom (the second season just aired, but a lot of people hated it so they're pretending it never happened) and I did get 2 amazing comments on the first chapter only to get absolutely silence on chapter 2.

It has been bugging me.

I didn't post waiting for anything, but I suppose my expectations raised after getting comments and now, even though I got a few kudos/subs/bookmarks, the radio silence is impacting on my will to write.

Have you been in this situation? Do you guys have any advice?
