I just came back from the emergency room because of a bad cough I have been having and a concern for pneumonia (which i guess i don’t have idk they didn’t even do a chest xray). My sheet said my bloods pressure at triage was 178/105 and not one single person had said anything about it. Right before I left, the nurse took my vitals again and my blood pressure was still that high, and the machine was also dinging. No one said anything at that point either. All i got diagnosed with was URI with a cough and was sent home. My question is, is 178/105 is stage 2 hypertension, which i do not have a history of, why wouldn’t anyone say anything or show any kind of concern AT THE EMERGENCY ROOM??? what happens when I fall over and die from a stroke at 22 due to my high blood pressure no one said anything about?? what do i even do in this situation?? is it normal for a respiratory inspection to cause sky high blood pressure like this??
