Posting this as a warning to the NRI community.
I initiated a transfer from Germany to India via ScopeX on 27 April 2026. It was marked "Completed" the same evening. Since then:
- Funds never credited to the recipient's account despite multiple follow-ups over several days
- The recipient's bank confirmed they cannot trace the transaction even using the UTR number provided by ScopeX
- ScopeX then requested a second bank account, claimed to reinitiate the payout, and issued a new receipt — with the exact same UTR number as the original transaction
- A UTR is generated by India's banking network (NEFT/IMPS/RTGS) and is unique to one specific transaction. It is technically impossible for a new transaction to a different account to carry the same UTR
- Funds not received in the second account either
- No credible explanation from ScopeX since 27 April
I am escalating to BaFin (Germany's financial regulator) and RBI. Sharing here so others in the community are aware before using this service.
Do NOT use ScopeX. Your hard earned money may never reach the recipient.
