Workplace breach of GDPR based in the United Kingdom
For context my mother passed away in a car accident and I had to return home to look after my dad and family farm.
Upon returning to work some months later my coworker informed me that my manager had emailed everyone i work with telling them my mother was involved in a car accident.
I was never asked permission for this sharing of personal information, my family and I kept it out of the social media and newspapers as we thought it too private.
Since hearing that everyone I work with now knows I don’t think I can continue to work there.
I feel very overwhelmed, stressed and now am loosing sleep & not eating properly knowing everyone is giving me funny looks because they know something I don’t want them to.
I would just like clarification as to weather this is also non material damage, loss of income from having to leave this job over such a stressing revelation and also a clear breach of GDPR Article 82
