UPDATE: The neurologist believes it is Atlantoaxial (AA) luxation from a fall. I'm moving forward with the MRI and potentially a CT scan as well as a spinal tap depending on what the MRI shows

My 14 week old pomeranian was staying with my parents this weekend while I was out of town. Everything was fine until Sunday morning. After he did his morning potty he came inside and vomited then just started constantly crying and whimpering. My mom immediately took him to our closest vet ER which is about an hour away. When I got home we went to see him.

They have ruled out anything toxic and everything seems normal other than his liver enzymes are elevated. But he's so lethargic and isn't eating so we left him overnight and they're going to give him a feeding tube. The vet is suggesting that it's neurological and I could do an MRI and spinal tap but that could cost $8000+ and they still might not know what it is. As of now I have a consult with a neurologist in a few hours to discuss further.

I'm just at a loss and was hoping for medical opinions on how others would proceed.
