I'm currently using an old Dual ULM CS 627 Q turntable with the AT-VM95E cartridge, plugged into the phono input of a Sony STR-DH190, then into 4 Yamaha NS-AP9500 (I think) speakers mounted to the wall.

Is it worth going to an external preamp? New cartridge? Speakers? Any suggestions for budget upgrades for my system?
