Had to narcan my patient today, feeling guilty for not catching it sooner and for giving her the pain meds. I didn’t make a med error and just gave the dose she was ordered (was increased earlier today) but I gave a Xanax about 1.5-2 hours before that. I’m a new grad and this was my first time having to give narcan, I know it’s not my fault but I feel like shit. Do you see narcan given often? Have u given in patient d/t too high a dose of pain meds?
