I had Phallo last July, hard to believe I’m coming up on a year post op. My team was Dr. Farmer and Dr. Broghammer at KU med in Kansas City Kansas.
Overall things went great for me. I had a small fistula at 3 weeks post op that required me to keep my catheter an additional 2 weeks. I got my sp cath out at 5 weeks post op and then started having symptoms of a stricture a few weeks later. I had the optilume treater on October 21st at the time of the operation I had narrowed to less than .5mm. At about 4 weeks post op my stricture came back. I was given the choice between self cathing every day to keep things open or getting an sp cath. I chose to self cath. Before I could get that done I had to get a dilation that was done in office and was VERY unpleasant.
I then self cathed every day for 2 weeks and went down to as needed for me that was every 5 days. On January 20th of this year I got my urethroplasty thankfully my surgery was fairly easy as my structure was only 1cm so no graft was needed. Just had my 3 month post op scope and everything looks good no structure! I will go back and see my doctor in 6 months and if everything looks good we can talk about implants. Peeing standing up was my biggest goal going in and I’m really grateful to be able to do that now. Sorry if spelling is off it’s not my strong suit. If you have any questions or want any inflation about the team let me know.
