Hi,
I’m wondering for everyone who’s had a meniscus repair (medial meniscus tear), how was your pain level? What was the pain like if you had to describe it? Did you have pain all the time (even at rest), or moreso with PT? I want the dirty deets. I am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow and trying to gauge what’s normal at this point. I know pain is different for everyone and none of us have had the same surgery with the same surgeon- but I’d like to see what other people’s experiences have been. I beat myself up for not meeting PT goals as I had initially expected. I could write a novel about the hang-ups with PT, but basically I can bend to 90 by myself pretty comfortably and straighten comfortably to about 5 degrees, and can control my quad mostly. I can bend and straighten more if I push it, which is kinda where the pain comes into play. Also, it’s like my body fights itself… my hip is so tense and sore in an attempt to protect my knee. (And don’t get me started on the mental pain 🤪)
Anyway, anything that anyone is willing to share about their pain experience I would love to hear.
