Profile Evaluation — M7 / Top European MBA

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate some honest feedback on my profile and my chances at top B-schools.

Profile:

  • Age: 28, Indian male
  • GMAT FE: 735
  • Undergrad: from a top IIT , GPA 6.125/10
  • Work experience: ~5 years in analytics & consulting
  • Extracurriculars/leadership: Trek leader, non-profit work with marginalized communities during college, Basic Mountaineering Course, NCC, and a few other achievements
  • Career break: Currently on a career break and exploring my next career move

Post-MBA goals: Impact consulting / management consulting, with a longer-term interest in social impact and sustainability.

I’m a little concerned about my relatively low undergraduate GPA despite the 735 GMAT, and I’m trying to understand how much of a disadvantage this would be in the admissions process.

My targets are M7 and top European schools (LBS, INSEAD, HEC Paris, IESE, etc.).

A few questions:

  1. How competitive would my profile be for M7/T15 and top European schools?
  2. Would the 6.125/10 GPA be a significant red flag despite the 735 GMAT?
  3. Which schools would you consider reach / target / relatively safer for this profile?
  4. How should I position my career break and post-MBA goals in my applications?

Any candid feedback, especially from current students, alumni, or applicants with similar profiles, would be greatly appreciated.
