Accepted to MSCA + Scholarship Offer in Canada — Feeling Confused About Next Steps

Hi everyone,
I recently received an offer for a Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions (MSCA) for phd, and I also have a scholarship opportunity in Canada phd also in ETS. I’m grateful for both, but I’m a bit confused about what comes after.

For those who completed MSCA:

  • Did it open strong opportunities afterward (postdoc, industry, EU labs, etc.)?
  • How did it compare to doing a PhD in Canada in terms of career mobility?
  • Any insights on long‑term benefits or limitations?

I know nothing is guaranteed, but any honest experience or advice would help me make a clearer decision.

Thanks in advance.

Marie Curie PhD at University of Cyprus: Is it worth it?

Hello everyone,
I hope you are all doing well.
I have been accepted for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie / Marie Curie PhD scholarship at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia. From what I understand, the funding is around 3400€/month gross before deductions, but I am still trying to understand the real net salary, cost of living, and overall experience.
I wanted to ask people who know Cyprus or have done a PhD there:
Is this opportunity worth it academically and professionally?
How is life in Nicosia for an international PhD student?
What are the negative sides of living in the Republic of Cyprus/EU side?
How expensive is rent, food, transport, and daily life?
Is it easy to find accommodation?
How good is the University of Cyprus for engineering/research?
Are there good opportunities after a PhD from Cyprus in the EU?
What should I be careful about before signing the contract?
Any honest advice, good or bad, would be really appreciated.
Thank you!
