My Process + Prompts

I've had a few DMs and comments, asking about what my workflow is like, so I thought I'd take a few minutes to talk about it. I do enjoying discussing these things too.

I've used 'Chelsea' as my example above.

I use Nano Banana Pro mostly (via Leonardo.AI), and sometimes Nano Banana 2. They're currently my favourite models to use. I usually start by generating a number of characters almost randomly, using the following prompt:

close-up knee-length 4k image of an attractive redheaded girl in her late teens from different angles in the same pose. 5 shots. split frame. front, side, and back, and two headshots of different expressions including a soft open-mouth smile. asymmetrical wavy hair tied in a ponytail with loose strands framing just one side of her face, subtle freckles. wearing a tight-fitted placeholder outfit that highlights the character's silhouette. plain solid colour background. she has a slender upper body, medium-size bust, really wide hips, thick thighs. the hips should really widen in comparison to the torso.

This resulted in Image 1. Obviously there's lots of specific physical traits there, but those change depending on what I'm in the mood for.

I then expand on the character, generating a 3x3 grid of varying facial expressions. Whilst this isn't fully necessary, I finds it helps with greater consistency over time. Here's the prompt that resulted in Image 2:

A seamless 3x3 grid collage of this character, filling the entire vertical frame, divided into 9 equal vertical panels. Medium head-and-shoulders portraits, zoomed out enough to show the full head, complete hair (consistent asymmetrical wavy hair tied in a ponytail with loose strands framing just one side of her face), and bare shoulders. No cropping of the forehead. 9 distinct expressions: 1) soft smile, 2) open-mouth smile, 3) blowing a kiss, 4) shy smile, 5) attractive lip-biting, 6) sarcastic raised eyebrow, 7) arrogant sneer of mild disgust, 8) annoyed, 9) cheeky wide grin with scrunched-up nose. Realistic and natural looking, minimal makeup.

The bit in brackets was just to help the hair consistency that the model was struggling with.

Separately, I'll start looking for outfit inspirations on either Pinterest or r/OUTFITS. Once I've got an idea of something I like, I'll use something like the following prompt:

generate a photo of an outfit on a mannequin, plain background, 3 angles - front, side and back. the outfit is a short white crop top seemingly made up of 3d daisies and with spaghetti straps, on top of a low-cut sky-blue bra (no lace), and tight low-rise jeans that match the colour of the bra. the jeans should have no back pockets. the mannequin should have wide hips and a round butt, but no head.

See Image 3. Note that I'll usually try and make the mannequin's shape reflect the body type of the character I'll be making, as it helps when combining the two. Sometimes I'll find an outfit I like and use it directly as an image reference, in which case less description of the outfit is required in the prompt.

Now it's time to combine them...

close-up knee-length 4k collage of the character from image 1 and 2 different angles in the same pose. 3 shots. split frame. front, side, and back. wearing the exact same outfit from image 3. casual candid style, plain background. small open-mouth smile. character has minimal makeup, pale skin, and a large round butt. maintain hair and facial consistency between the three poses. the butt should be round and prominent, even from the back. asymmetrical wavy hair tied in a ponytail with loose strands framing just one side of her face.

Pretty self-explanatory there. Some extra details just to make sure the hair and body proportions were correct. This resulted in Image 4.

I then use Image 2 and 4 as references for all subsequent pictures. This is the most variable bit, with lots of changes to the prompts for each image depending on what shot I want. But to finish off, here's the two prompts for the two random images from the 'shoot' above.

generate a close-up image of this model, exact same outfit, exact same hairstyle (asymmetrical ponytail loose strand framing the face only on one side). lying on her stomach with upper body propped up on her elbows in a pose that obviously highlights the downblouse cleavage. dynamic lighting. the location is a grassy park on a summer's day. the straps of her outfit have fallen off of the left shoulder.

generate a knee-length image of this model, exact same outfit, same asymmetrical hairstyle, completely different dynamic pose, different shot, photoshoot style. pose that highlights the butt. soft open-mouth smile, minimal makeup. dynamic lighting. the location is a grassy park on a summer's day. dynamic angle

I hope at least somebody found that interesting. Any further questions or anything, I'm always happy to discuss :)

I always wanted to be a photographer when I was younger, or something related to fashion, but never pursued it. Don't think I would've been that good at it anyway. But now I can scratch that itch with AI.

Made using Nano Banana Pro/2 via Leonardo AI. See more in my subreddit (see profile).

See a model you like?

Feel free to request a new photoshoot for any of the models, or a second set of images from the same shoot. Also happy to take outfit and photoshoot suggestions here.
