Another Big Ethiopia (but federated)

Another Big Ethiopia (but federated)

The map is set in the modern day. It follows a timeline where Ethiopia managed to modernize much earlier, conquering nearby nations. It managed to not only avoid European colonization during the Scramble for Africa, but rival European empires in its size and power.

A nation as large as this one, however, is bound to run into some internal strife. Ethiopia was no exception. After years of unrest and a bloody civil war, the country underwent a heavy reform in which it gradually federalized and gave greater equality between its various states and ethnic groups.

Simplistic and probably not very realistic. Maybe some mistakes. I know. This is my first map so I’m hoping to get some feedback.

Countries where the coast is less densely populated?

Across the world, the pattern is generally that populations skew towards the coast. This can be seen in many countries, such as Brazil among many others. In some specific instances, however, the reverse seems to be true; coastal populations are small in comparison to those of the interior. Namibia is a good example of this, with the Namib Desert making settlement along the coast more difficult. What are some other examples of this rare occurrence?
