Awful speeds after installation
Hey folks, I work for a small MSP that just recently installed some Ubiquiti hardware for a clients home network. It was our first time using anything Ubiquiti, and the person who planned the project was fired two weeks before implementation for unrelated reasons.
I thought the installation went well, and I was seeing great speeds in the UniFi app Speed Test (not knowing at the time that it was only testing the connection from the ISPs modem) and now the client is getting VERY low speeds. He has a fiber connection from his ISP and should be pulling around 1gig both up and down. Currently he is seeing around 30-40mbps down and 700-800mbps up. Sometimes this gets as low as 3-4mbps down.
The setup is a UDM Pro Max, receiving internet from the ISP modem's 2.5G ethernet port through a cat6 cable plugged into it's ethernet wan port. The UDM is connected to a USW Pro Max 16 via a 10G sfp connector cable. There are also two U7 Pro XGS APs plugged into the USW.
The connection speed when plugged directly into the UDM seems fine, but it drops dramatically when plugged into the USW, so im missing something with the connection between the two.
I have been troubleshooting this for a while now and have tried setting the ports to manual speed settings rather than autonegotiate and I have turned on Flow Control for the USW. Nothing has helped so far and Im so new to this equipment Im not sure where else I should be looking or what might need tweaking elsewhere.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
