Peeing inside because I'm cooking meat? 🤷♀️
So... this may be a general dog question rather than a greyhound one, but this community has been great to me since I got my boy last February and... maybe it is actually relevant.
My boy is 4 years old from Australia, and so far the only real struggle I've had with him is restlessness. He has calmed down a little since, but he still seems to be way more high energy than most greyhounds I hear about. Which has been fine, I'm adapting to him and he to me.
Anyway... so far he has been REALLY good about not going potty inside, aside from the occasional accident, and once he did #2 when he had a bad episode of diarrhea right after I started him on the bernies perfect poop supplement.
I've actually been really proud of him for not going inside, and for crying when he needs to. It's been great. He whimpers in the morning when he wants to go out and I happily get him out and he's very patient about waiting til I get dressed, etc.
I am a vegetarian, so I don't ever cook meat in the apartment. He has been having diarrhea so I was told to give him plain boiled chicken and rice, in small portions a few times a day.
I think it was maybe the 2nd time I cooked the chicken? He all of a sudden decided to pee on my area rug while I was making and prepping it. He had gone outside not long before that.
I had to make him another batch, and again he peed in my apartment while I was making it! This time on the hardwood, thankfully. But it's frustrating because I know he knows better! Is he doing it because he doesn't want to leave the chicken? Lol!!! He is EXTREMELY food motivated, he eats really fast and constantly wants food and to go outside. I'm just wondering why he all of a sudden wants to pee inside, and it's only been when I'm making his chicken... it seems weird. It's not right away, he always sniffs around for a while trying to get some, and is relentless, then I hear or see him peeing and i tell him no and then take him outside...
Sorry, that was very long winded 😅
