My friends SFAWTDE theories
They don’t have access to reddit so they asked if I could give it to ya’ll and see y’all’s opinions.
First part- was written the night I watched the "Creating a World That Doesn’t Exist" video.
I’m mainly here because before I was just thinking about how the new parts of the series might go. Avery might open the document to try and bear the footage one more time, and notice that it’d been blocked, and go on some adventure to find him- or something like that. But that’s when I realized. Let’s just say, based off tone and implications- “what’s happening to him” and the fact they knew his last name- the DMS has Derek. Like, kidnapping or something. That’s the vibes I’m getting anyway, although I did just watch some good old stranger things, so I could be assuming things based on Eleven’s situation in the episode I’m watching. ANYWAY, let say he’s being, uh, held captive by the government. If they were able to find him so quickly, probably shortly after Wifies published the video, then...
Wouldn’t they have Avery too?
It just feels like it makes more sense. They'd know of his involvement just as much as Avery’s, and Avery wouldn’t have the foresight to hide from anybody unless he got REALLY paranoid, which just seems unlikely. But it leaves the question, if both of our boys are MIA, how would any progress be made in the series?
Which leaves me with three ideas of what could happen.
1. A new character (or characterS) goes looking for them. Maybe a relative of Derek or Avery, or just somebody dedicated to the series. They’d look at the clues left and explore further, probably into the world of the king, and discover some way to contact the two or accidentally awaken more troubles, which leads me to
2. The gods step in. Wifies seemed pretty excited about the involvement of Cthulhu, and I get the feeling he intends to reuse the idea in some way. So, now that Hastur’s been defeated (at least temporarily), maybe Cthulhu or some other gods would take over that world. It is still likely that some new characters would be involved in this, or that the boys would be brought back, perhaps only in subconscious form, to deal with the new threats.
3. The arg could become a TRUE arg in which the fans themselves are left to investigate what has happened and save Avery and Derek. I wouldn’t think this was likely, except the mention of the previous arg with Abel and Ianius means that Wifies is in fact capable and willing to do this type of scavenger hunt arg. I think it’d be fun, but this idea kind of scares me cuz i have like trauma from how ridiculously cryptic thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com was LOL
Anyway, I’m getting tired, so that’s all my theories and ramblings for now.
Second part- written after I watched Finding a Player Who Doesnt Exist.
Ok well I watched another Wifies arg, and I think I may have secured some new info
Before I say all this, please keep in mind that this WHOLE thing hinges on one big if:
IF sfawtde/dawtde is connected to Finding a Player Who Doesn’t Exist.
And I have reason to believe they are connected. Most obvious, of course, is the name, which almost seems to suggest they belong to the same series.
But they are also similar in that Wifies himself acts quite similar to Avery in this arg, getting very attached to and emotional about an unknown missing player, and risking his own safety to find him.
Anyway, if these args are connected, then let’s just- ASSUME- that the DMS (which is the main force in the arg) is doing the same thing it does in finding a player.
So, a quick overview and SPOILER WARNING if you haven’t watched the absolute peak that that video is, but in finding a player who doesn't exist, the DMS uses a normal Minecraft server as an experiment in turning people into mindless drones that do nothing but follow orders. They have a player named Alex unknowingly agree to a set of terms and conditions warning of negative physical effects, and the game gets progressively more glitchy and unnatural in order to scare him. They don't let him stop playing, and force him to go to an enclosed place in the server, not allowing the other players to contact him. They then retrieve his physical body and take him to a lab where he is kept alive with machines as he does NOTHING but mine bedrock, never snapping out of his trance, for 6 WHOLE YEARS. Wifies finds him, however, and shuts down the server, hopefully freeing him.
So a couple of similarities can already be noticed.
First of all, the trance. That sounds awfully similar to what Avery experienced. He was completely mindless after he saw what was in the book. It's unclear what exactly caused Alex to go into his trance, but it seemed to happen right after he was trapped in a mine and chased down and reached by what seemed to be someone from the DMS's Minecraft character called "Archive"(I think a representative of the organization Archive).
So the trances are similar in nature, but very different in cause.
The second thing that stands out is the fact that Alex is unable to look away from the screen. It should be obvious who I'm talking about. But the reason Alex has survived this so long is because of machines. Again, a similar effect, with different cause. This brings up a REALLY interesting lead!
I've seen theories that Derek died the moment he saw the king, and only existed within the Minecraft. If we do the math, Derek saw the king at LEAST two months before the events of dawtde. There is just NO WAY that he could have survived for two months on smoothies in a mini fridge, and it very well could have been much longer. Which brings the idea, what if the dms discovered him far BEFORE the events of dawtde?
It makes much more sense. He would have uploaded the videos, causing him to be found by them, and he wouldn't be aware of the presence of others since he can't look away from his screen.
Anyway, that's only HALF of my theory. The other half is that- and stay with me here-
The DMS is, or intends to be, working with Hastur.
I know it sounds insane, or like a stretch. But hear me out for a moment.
Let's just review the two things that happen to Alex because of the DMS.
He goes into a prolonged and complete trance he is unable to break away from without outside help.
He is unable to look away from his screen and is kept alive through unnatural means.
Now, what happens to dawtde's characters because of the king in yellow?
Avery goes into a prolonged and complete trance he is unable to break away from without outside help.
Derek is unable to look away from his screen and is likely kept alive through unnatural means.
This seems to prove that the DMS and the king have similar goals and strategies. Therefore, although there's no proof of interaction between them, it seems possible they could work together to achieve what they want- which, put simply, is full control over humanity.
