Is Tapas Worth It, or Am I About to Feed Another Content Machine?

Has anyone here had experience posting on Tapas?

I know very little about it, so I’m mainly looking for the community’s general “feel” on whether it’s worth trying. I write an otome isekai LitRPG, and I’m wondering if that kind of story has a real audience there.

More specifically, I’m curious about two things:

  1. Does Tapas seem like a good fit for otome isekai / LitRPGs?
  2. Is it realistic to earn money there?

I’m not expecting guarantees, obviously, but I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have posted there, read there, or tried monetizing there. What was your experience like? Is Tapas worth doing, or would my time be better spent elsewhere?

A stranger recommended my story unprompted, and I am choosing to be obnoxiously happy about it

Someone recommended one of my stories in the LitRPG subreddit about villain MC recommendations. It may not have been the first time, but it was the first time I noticed and honestly, it felt amazing.

Not because I begged for it. Not because I prompted a family member at gunpoint to say something nice. It was just… organic. A stranger read the story, liked it enough, and recommended it to someone else.

That is a very small thing in the grand scheme of life, but for me, it feels huge.

Anyway, I’m posting this on Reddit, so I assume the downvotes are already loading in the chamber. But, today I’m taking the win.
