I am a big fan of the but no one else in my family appreciates the beauty of the show. So I need someone to talk to about my theories!
Sara is the new Christopher. He was the one who massacred the town, not the entity. Remember what Miranda said? Find a place to hide that Christopher doesn't know about
I think Boyd is a reincarnation of the towns leader from long ago when the deal was made and the children are sacrificed,but he was part of the deal. He is the new Martin, and he is given to the music box monster in return for the gifts, food, etc. The monster wants people to torture,but since he didn't get Boyd, and lost Martin, he took Marielle, Julie, and Randall.
The monsters only come out at night and the children during the day because the monsters are the dark and thr children are the light. They can't cross paths, doomed to wonder around walking past each other.
The drawing on the talismans is a depiction of the stone slab sacrifices, which is why the monsters can't pass. They are in a hell loop of their own shame.
The cycle will repeat. The town will be massacred, and I think the last scene will be Ethan sitting in the town alone, a car with a family with drive into the town, and he will say "Hey, where are you from?"
