Looking for a bit of advice from driving instructors regarding etiquette/professional.
My son has a regular instructor who we really like and who has been teaching him for around 18 months. He’s autistic, so it’s taken a little longer for him to build confidence and trust, and we’d really like to stick with his current instructor long term as his main instructor.
However, he’s just been offered 40 free hours, which obviously feels silly to turn down with the cost of lessons these days.
The plan would be for him to continue weekly lessons with his current instructor, but also do a 2-hour lesson with the new instructor.
Is this generally considered acceptable within the industry, or is it seen as poor form to have two instructors at once? I’d rather be upfront and respectful with his current teacher than accidentally step on anyone’s toes.
Also, do instructors generally find it causes confusion for learners if teaching styles differ slightly?
Would genuinely appreciate honest opinions from instructors. 🙂
