The pain is agonizing
I (39F) ruptured my Achilles last Wednesday playing in my pickleball league (😭😭😭), had the repair surgery on Tuesday, and the nerve block finally wore off after about 28 hours. (I’m so grateful it lasted as long as it did!)
Since then the pain has been excruciating. I’m elevating almost 24 hours/day and icing almost nonstop. I’ve had to double my dose of oxy just to not cry tears of pain. My 4 year old saw me crying and it really made her sad. (She asked me earlier if I’m ever going to get out of bed again.) I’m taking Tylenol 1000mg 2x a day, a double dose of 5mg oxy every 4 hours, and zofran here and there. Also on a blood thinner so ibuprofen isn’t currently an option.
As a result I’m so constipated, but I’m terrified to put my foot down for fear of applying too much pressure and/or rerupturing. I’ve been taking miralax every day but nothing yet.
Does the pain get better?
How to poop???
