Is this all positive?
I reached out to a HR manager at a corporate company who had posted about roles in my sector coming up soon. She arranged a call and said due to the company merging they were waiting on role sign offs etc. I did mention on the call I’d like to chat with the team even if just for networking purposes and said I’m more than happy to pop in or meet on teams.
After a week of silence post call I reached out to the HR manager who said she would arrange an informal interview/coffee so I could meet the MD. The meet with MD went well in my opinion, lasted for over an hour and we shared very similar backgrounds which made great conversation points. The MD asked me about salary and said what I proposed was well within their budget and also asked about if I had any holiday soon and availability. She ended the conversation with a tour around the office and said she can envision me working there and thinks I’m a confident individual who would fit in very well with the team.
Next steps wise she said they still need to wait for it to be signed off and that she’d like to get me in again once that has happened to meet with who my manager would be for a similar discussion/interview and small task. I followed up with the HR thanking her for arranging this all for me and she said that they are still waiting for the role to ‘go to market’ and that things should move forward soon, but it’s been a week and I’m unsure how long a process like this works as I’m the only person they’ve informally met with before it goes live - don’t want to overly invest in something that’s not going to go live but the MD said they need someone urgent.
Also I know nothing is concrete until you get a contract but the wording ‘go to market’ from HR threw me off. Any thoughts at all from people that have experienced this - the positive and negative is all welcome :)
