Last year I was so excited to see a puzzle at Guster’s merch table. The image was the album cover for Ooh La La. I finally got started putting the puzzle together and..: this puzzle is impossible. The image is mostly slight color gradation, which is fine but then each piece can fit with any other piece so you have absolutely no way to figure out if something is in the right spot.

Has anyone else attempted this puzzle? Anyone successful at it?

I will be spending two full days (three nights) in Tokyo in September. Nailing down an itinerary has been a bit overwhelming. I know I won’t get to see everything in such a short time, but want to hit the highlights and get a general sense for the city.

Here is my itinerary. What changes or gaps do you see here?

Day 1
Asakusa – Sensō-ji Temple and wander Nakamise
TeamLab Planets
Lunch near Toyosu or Ryōgoku
Sumo at Ryōgoku Kokugikan (assuming we can get tickets)

Day 2
Shinjuku Gyoen Yanaka
Takeshita Street / Omotesando
Shibuya Sky
Shinjuku for dinner

We will be spending 9 nights traveling in Japan. I like exploring smaller areas, so I’m not prioritizing time in Tokyo. We will be in the region already visiting friends, so will hopefully already be past jet lag.

Here’s our plan:

2 nights Tokyo

1 night Hakone

1 night Kanazawa

1 night Kinosaki

3 nights Kyoto (including side trip to Nara)

1 night Osaka

Is this too much? If you were going to cut or change any of the stops, which would you do?
