3rd time the charm?
After watching him play today, I know it sounds crazy but he still looks pretty competitive for us in Serie A. Yeah we would look more like a retirement house with him but but he's very versatile and can cover the RWB position ...
Reaching 2000+ ~3.5 years after picking up chess again
Just got to 2005 (rapid on chesscom) after a few games tonight. I the last game my opponent put the queen en prise and resigned after I capture the piece. A bit anti climatic but I'll take the W.
I played chess for ~2 years in elementary school and then quit for almost 30 years. Picked up the game again in late 2022 for various reasons. And here we are!
England is playing and Fox has a former English ref as rules analyst
The ref gave no pen for Harry Kane falling down in the penalty area. Meanwhile Mark Clattenburg, former English referee and Fox rules analyst, said on air that he would award a pen immediately.
Seriously for all the money they make at the WC they can't hire another rules analyst who is not coming from one of the 2 countries playing?
Anyone else seeing the problem?
They didn't mention his La Liga and Ligue 1 titles but the Serie A titles look weird ...
Reset the counter
I just took a break from chess for a few months because of work. Made a come back today and received a very warm welcome by my 1800 opponent. They didn't let me finish the sequence, though. Credit to my opponent as they probably knew what was coming.
Did the final standings change the perspective on Chivu in big games?
Against the top 4, we have 4 wins (Roma and Como, twice), 1 draw, and 1 loss (Napoli). It's 66.7% win rate.
Against top 7, we have 6 wins (Roma x2, Como x2, Juventus, Atalanta), 2 draws (Napoli, Atalanta), 4 losses (Milan, Juve, Napoli). It's 50% win rate.
