Thoughts on the current arc.
This post will probably be deleted because apparently the admins don't like this type of posts, but I have to write it.
I know the current Arc isn't over yet, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a deep disappointment for me.
We have the biggest war between Qin and Zhao, but I don't feel it. Everything happens too fast, there is no depth to it. The author jumps from one battlefield to another.
I realize that the author is pressed for time and we won't get a very complicated plot, but there are certain limits. This looks really bad to me. There's practically nothing noteworthy about this arc. Even the archery duel was boring to me.
The previous story arcs had some interesting action. Here I have the impression that the author wants to end Zhao's story as quickly as possible. The only thing that intrigues me a little is Shin's exaggerated calm, but maybe it's just an impression and there's no plot behind it.
Additionally, from the last chapter we learn that Shin has already started the siege of the capital. Really? The author builds a narrative for several hundred chapters and what? Suddenly they break the enemy lines and the siege begins. This doesn't make sense, and it'll only get worse when Ri Boku comes up with another brilliant tactic.
In my opinion, since Kanki's death, the quality of the manga's plot has clearly decreased. The Hango Arc was a disaster. Conquest of Han was a little better, but you can see that Hara is in a hurry and it's not the same manga as before. Disappointing, but clearly the author is getting old and wants to end this as soon as possible.
