Cornell West’s “Race Matters” on Rauch Review and reviewed by Kim M. Reynolds on October 08, 2024

It is great when a book review does what every publisher wants, make you want to read the book. Kim Reynolds review of “Race Matters” is a thorough examination of what works and what doesn’t work for this book. Ms. Reynolds is honest, straight forward and fair when discussing “Race Matters”. And yet with her critiques I still find I want to read it for my opinion.

Also it is great when before you read the book you are ready to engage with it. Ms. Reynolds’ review describes enough detail for you to begin forming your own arguments, not that you should, before you even open the book.

Race in this country is not a resolved issue and as per Ms. Reynolds this book is short on real solutions. Otherwise though the review points out where Mr. West is successful and where much more is needed to help us find better answers.
