First time posting, read the rules in the side bar, and hopefully the below is an ok thing to ask this sub.

The main stone in my wife's platinum engagement ring was a bit loose, and one of the prongs looks damaged. She took it to the jeweler who made it in the first place, and they tightened the prong and said it was fine. She wasn't quite happy with the aesthetic of the prong that looks broken (top left prong on the central diamond), so she took it somewhere else and they said it would £700 (about USD 1,000) to fix. We're now quite confused on what to do. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone might have!
