Progressed from Grade 3 cartilage Damage to Grade 4 in 1 year??

Hi everyone, 28 year old female here.

I was diagnosed last year with Chondromalacia Patellar Grade 3 and a meniscus tear and I start PT quite soon after. I've been overweight my whole life and I literally pulled my jeans on one night and heard a pop in my left knee, which lead to immense pain and being unable to walk.

It's been one year in physiotherapy (mostly hydrotherapy) because I've been unable to handle any kind of strengthening with bands, I've even lost 16 kgs since last year and I was hitting a wall with hydrotherapy so my physiotherapist recommended getting an MRI to see where we are. They tried giving me lunges a few times and it always caused swelling, so they kept trying to reintroduce it once ever 2-3 weeks. I've been having a lot more swelling and pain, and then I go for it and see this. My meniscus tear has pretty much healed but I've progressed into Grade 4 despite my Pt Work and weight loss.

I feel so miserable and so scared. I stayed at the PT and weight loss (calorie deficit) because my only hope was it getting better not worse and now, I just feel like it was all for nothing. I don't even know what to do anymore. I don't feel like going back to any orthopaedics I'm so angry and so fed up.

27, Looking for Friends with Effort! 🌱

Hey everyone!

I'm currently looking for friends that genuinely put in the effort to talk, ask questions and are curious about getting to know each other better. If you're going to waste my time and disappear after some days, please don't bother messaging me. And don't bother if it's just a 'hi' and you don't know how to keep a conversation going.

I definitely don't want the intense flirting+ghosting convo, save that for someone else.

A bit about me: I'm into reading (fiction, non-fiction, history, psychology, literature, philosophy, prehistory 🦕, flora and fauna and more), writing (poetry and short stories), art (I love art and I do paint and draw, but yes it's like a five year old and I really don't care cause I'm happy to feel like a five year old when I paint!), cooking and baking (I've made a lot of different things since I was 15!)

Apart from this, I also like gaming but not all the time, I like to keep everything I do balanced (I try!), and I'll play anything once or more, but I often prefer RPGs and cozy games (yes I know, but they're relaxing and I don't have to worry about having my head blown off while taking the next bend)

I also do like spiritual discussions, but tbh I would discuss anything because I'm always glad to learn more (just maybe not too much politics okay?)

Here are two truths and one lie about me, if you'd like to talk start guessing and DM me!:

  1. I've never eaten meat

  2. I can speak three languages fluently

  3. I'm partially British
