What I’m I doing wrong?

What I’m I doing wrong?

This is what Jupiter looks like through my 114mm 500mm telescope at 52x magnification (it’s not actually as bright as it appears in the picture). I can clearly make out Jupiter’s shape, but it’s too bright to see any detail. Is there anything I should be doing differently besides adjusting focus, or have I basically reached the limit of my telescope.

IS 4mm TELESCOPE LENS WORTH IT?

Amateur astronomer with a 114mm/500mm reflector. My telescope included 9.7mm eyepiece but feels underpowered for planets. Would a 4mm eyepiece actually improve planetary detail, or is it better to just get a 2× Barlow instead (or something else)?
