App tracks distance while paused but not time — is this normal?
Hi! I first want to say that I already have an inquiry in with support, but I also wanted to ask here in case anyone else has experienced this.
I’ve noticed recently that when I pause a run, the app still seems to track distance while paused, but not time.
For example, if I pause at 5 km, walk 1 km, and then unpause, the app immediately jumps to 6 km even though the timer was paused the whole time. This completely throws off the run data because it looks like I ran 1 km in 0 time.
As a result:
- distance is incorrect to what I’ve actually run
- one split shows basically 0 time
- my total time is inaccurate
- therefore my average pace is inaccurate
I only really noticed it after accidentally pausing my watch during a run and not realizing for about 1 km. Once I unpaused it, everything was off.
I don’t remember this happening before, so I’m wondering if this is a newer issue or if this is just how the app works.
It’s pretty frustrating if pausing only stops the timer but not distance tracking, because it basically means you can’t move at all while paused if you want accurate stats. I know the alternative is to just not pause, but sometimes you genuinely need to.
Also wanted to clarify that I don’t use the treadmill function. I’ve tried this using the outdoor run on my phone and watch.
Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?
Thanks 🙏
