(CA, oakland) I live in a house with 5 people, two floors 2 and a half bathrooms. The upstairs floor which I share with 1 other house mate has bad plumbing ever since I moved, but it was fine until recently when everytime we would shower it would just fill up and clog all the time. Now its UNUSABLE, the tub is filled to the TOP with black water (probably poop from the sewer?) and also the toilet, so we cant use it.
Now we are sharing a bathroom between 6 people to shower. Also they will fix it (its been 1 and a half week) but in order to fix it we can’t use the kitchen sink. So we can’t cook.
ALSO, there is 2 fridge because is six people. And the one that I use has been giving problems and the owner would just say (unplug and plug it again) and now its not working and ALL OUR FOOD WENT BAD. All the meat and everything we had in there.
Now I am wondering what I should do in this situation, I am having to spend money eating out everyday because I can’t cook and all of the food and meat that I bought is bad. I am having to share a bathroom with 5 other people and I think is a huge inconvenience that should be compensated(?). I am having extra costs and living in a worse condition for the same price. What should I do and how should I handle this?
Info: The people are coming to fix the bathroom and fridge is just a matter of time, also the inconvenience of it all.
They also made a extra room from a downstairs living room to fit another person in the house and there is a basement that they transformed into a studio, so they get around 9K a month from all of us as far as I know, so they should have the money to fix.
