Considering commissioning into the Air Force Air Guard – looking for insights on 14N, 13S, and 13L

Background: 25M, finishing my BS in Finance in December, and I have 6 years in the Army National Guard. Currently working a solid civilian job that I’m not looking to leave, but I’ve been missing the military side of things, especially with everything going on geopolitically. Guard seems like the move rather than going full Active.

I’ve been doing some research into commissioning into the Air Guard through OTS and I understand the process can take over a year from application to commission, I’m okay with that timeline and willing to be patient if it’s the right fit.

So far: Intelligence (14N), Space Ops (13S), TACP/ALO (13L) are the most appealing to me.

Mainly just looking to hear from people who’ve been through it is the ANG officer route worth pursuing if you have a good civilian job and want to stay part-time but remain operationally relevant? And is the day-to-day in any of these careers what you expected it to be?

Resume/Application Help

Hello everyone, I just turned 25 yrs old and have 2.5 years as a PO in a major US City. I also have done 6 years with the National guard (Cyber/Technical MOS). Also working on finishing my Bachelors degree with just a little over 1 more semester to go.

I am considering making the jump to the feds. From my understanding, I feel like I best align with the USMS, I have reached out to a recruiter a few weeks ago and haven’t heard anything back. That being said USAJOBS announced the DEA will open application in July so I figured I’d prepare an application but am wondering what kind of resume these agencies want. If anyone feels comfortable enough to share an example or maybe their resume structure they used to get hired I would be grateful.

Also, this is one of those “you don’t know what you don’t know” situations. What else should I be doing right now to prepare? Things I should have squared away before applications open, common mistakes to avoid, or anything you wish someone had told you before you went through the process.
