I’m currently prepping my application for English-taught undergraduate programs in Japan and stuck on personal statement writing…

Wondering what writing style Japanese unis actually prefer? Super academic & formal, or heartfelt and lyrical?

My plan is to talk about my life experiences, the lessons I’ve learned, and how they led me straight to this exact program. Not sure if this approach works though…

Also curious… any big differences between national unis vs private top ones like Waseda & Keio when it comes to PS tone and style?

Honestly low-key panicking over this whole thing 😮‍💨 Would be so so grateful for any tips, advice or sharing from anyone who’s been through this!
