My experience in Meknès during FICAM was honestly disgusting. The amount of harassment and disrespect I experienced there completely ruined the trip for me. Instead of feeling safe as a student attending a cultural festival, I constantly felt uncomfortable just existing in the city and xfara w tax tax ktar a guy rah almost sr9ni.
People talk about the artistic side of the festival, but nobody talks enough about how unsafe and exhausting the environment can feel, especially for young students. I came there for animation and cinema, not to deal with harassment every time I went outside.
Honestly, after this experience, I genuinely don’t think FICAM should be held in Meknès. A festival meant to celebrate art, creativity, and students deserves a city where participants actually feel safe and respected.
