Are large cysts a symptom of endometriosis?
Hi, so I’ve been struggling with getting large cysts every single cycle. They usually go away after getting my period, but during ovulation and the entire luteal phase they just don’t go away. Sometimes they get large enough to be painful, and causes a large stabbing pain. They also give me serious constipation and bladder issues. I’ve never really had any issues with pain during my period, but after having large cysts confirmed during my luteal phase on three separate occasions, I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I am also struggling with estrogen dominance, and being on birth control for several years ultimately made it worse. My period is also late every other month, probably because one ovary produces a cysts that takes a while to disappear. I’ve been to gynaecologists in the past and they don’t seem to take it seriously and just tells me to take progestin only birth control. I have lipedema that’s not doing so well, so I don’t want to take any hormones unless absolutely necessary. However, seeing as my cysts are not going away or getting better, and also having estrogen dominance with increasingly painful periods, I am starting to wonder if it’s an endometriosis issue and if I need to push gynaecologists to take me seriously.
Another things, I also have EDS/POTS/MCAS, histamine intolerance, high prolactin and low progesterone. I know women with EDS are more likely to develop endo, and histamine intolerance could be a sign of estrogen driven endo too. Basically, just wondering if I should try to go back to a gynaecologist in case it could be endometriosis that’s causing these issues in the first place.
