Saw this interestingly-shaped dent in a rock. I joked how it looked like a dinosaur footprint, but then realized that it is possible. I guess it could also be just a randomized rock shape. Took a picture and noted the location. Went home and googled and saw that on the same mountain (Biokovo, Croatia), there have been 4 dino footprints confirmed.
Either way, I'd appreciate some info on what to do about this? Who would I contact, and does it make sense to contact them? Is this too far-fetched? I just feel that, if it is a legit footprint, it would be a shame to keep it from scientists.
Any paleontologists, if someone were to contact you with this story, image and location, what would your reaction be?
Also, how does one actually discern a random shape from a footprint?
