Hello, everyone.

So, over a decade Pynchon reader here. A little bit of a background story, read GR and Vineland when I was 17, M&D when I was 20, COL49 when I was 23, ATD when I was 28 and ST when I was 29. See, Pynchons novel got easier and easier the more familiar I became with them, but also I assume that picking up a consistent reading habit helped. I had bought a second edition of V. in a Baptist thrift store in Southern Spain for ¢50 which has a stamp that says Napoli (I thought you’d appreciate how Pynchonesque that is). I never made my made on starting V. Since English is not my first language and I had always heard it is one of his hardest read. I am now over 50% and I’m hooked. It’s probably the most addictive of his novels and I feel im understanding (almost) all symbolism and themes, or at least they feel more obvious than in freaking ATD. Anybody else feels this way or is it just me getting use to his themes and if I reread ATD I’d grasp more of it?

Love this community btw.
