Hello all, first post here so just wanted to see if I could get some advice from everyone. I have a job offer but I am unsure if taking it would be the best option.

About Me:

I am a 24 year old data analyst. I have been out of college for about a year, and am also coming up on 1 year of employment. I am currently engaged and doing long distance with my fiancee (due to jobs). We are a few hours drive away, so I see her about once a month. We met in college and have been doing long distance for around 2 years. We are set to get married in the next year.

My Current Role:

Right now, I am a data analyst for a large public company in my industry. I have been in my role for just under a year - this was my first position after graduating. For the most part, I like what I do, but every now and then I wish I could focus more on the data. Unfortunately due to the bad market, my company has been struggling. We have had 2 separate re-orgs, resulting in many layoffs which is worrisome. We have new management and things seem better, but do not want to let my guard down. There is also some uncertainty about my future in the company, as we have a new team coming in. I would hope I would continue where I am or get re-purposed but can't say with confidence. I am in the office 4/5 days a week and have really good work life balance.

My Offer:

Today I received an offer from a professional services firm. The role seems very similar to what I do now, but more data focused. I will work in a small data team, and this role is remote. They seem to really like me, and think I'd be a great fit for the culture. They did however mention that they are looking for someone that is okay with putting in extra hours when necessary. They said they are able to maintain work-life balance due to the great team environment they have, even if there are a few extra hours every now and then. I do believe they have a good team dynamic, and they seem great to work with. The only drawback is the fear of the unknown - what if it's a very grindy-toxic work environment? I don't think it will be but don't know for sure.

My Dilemma:

I have asked my current company if I can work remote in the same city as my fiancee. They have not gotten back to me, but plan on asking again and getting an answer tomorrow. The offer is completely remote so it allows me to move to my fiancee's city and finally be closer to her. Both roles have the same exact compensation package. I would feel bad leaving my current company because my team is fantastic, but the fear of layoffs are scary. I don't want to make the wrong choice and leave it for a potentially grind based firm just because I want to see my fiancee ASAP. What do yall think?
