I'm new to the game and looking to get started. Have cracked some packs of previous sets and read through the basic rules but haven't played at my LGS yet. I have played many other TCGs though. Is pre-rift a good event for a new player to attend or will I be out of my depth playing sealed to start? Was thinking about going to a Radiance pre-rift in a couple weeks. Thanks!

I've been trying to watch the review videos from the simulated MBE and they are having trouble loading

I've never been to GenCon before and was thinking about making the trip. I'm guessing most of the events are sold out at this point as well as the convenient hotels. Is it still possible to have fun as a first timer without being able to sign up for events, just walking the floor, playing demos, etc? Or should I just try to plan further ahead for next year?
