How long could you "rot"?

Insane alien, blah blah, $1726.19/day for the following. (Edited to remove the k, it's ~$1700/day)

  1. You have to sit/lay in bed continuously. (You can get up to use the nearest bathroom when you actually need it) No getting up otherwise, no walking, running, etc. You have a cheap (32") TV and a generic low end phone. Clothes and sheets are changed/washed but they're plain grey Walmart grade stuff. Nobody will come to visit and chat, it's just you in a room alone
  2. You can watch TV but it's restricted to bland pablum- soap operas, TV game shows, etc. No news, documentaries, thought-provoking movies, etc
  3. You can read books but they are all cheap trash- superhero fanfiction, pulp romances or westerns. Ditto no newspapers, decent novels, textbooks, etc
  4. Internet access is restricted to dull fare like recipe sites that are mostly AI generated stories about your grandmother. No social media, no news, no wikipedia, etc
  5. You can play games on your phone but they are all bottom of the barrel pay to win gatcha games and you have no credit card
  6. Food is delivered but it's basic American fast food- McD's hamburgers+ fries, KFC chicken, etc.
  7. All other ways of entertaining yourself are restricted to the sorts of things above- nothing mentally or physically stimulating. (And while they can't stop your imagination, no lube/lotion/toys are available...)

How long can you approximate a vegetable?

Kind of miss my goldfish

I gave away my two surviving goldfish recently- they were outgrowing their tank and I found a co-worker with a pond to take them. (Apparently they're doing well in their new home)

I've redone the tank with more plants, driftwood and smaller tropical fish like tetras and corys and it looks nice, but I have to admit none of those fish have any personality. My goldfish did- they knew to look for me around dinnertime and would splash the water if they saw me and I didn't feed them fast enough. They'd come to the glass and watch me if I was watching them and hang out at the top of the tank at night waiting for me to turn out the light. Perhaps I'm anthropomorphizing them too much but they really did seem to react to me.

I'm hoping they are happy now
