Valdosta MLIS questions from a new student

I was just accepted into the MLIS program at Valdosta. I have so many questions and would love to hear from people who have been in the program recently. I currently work in a public library.

  1. I would love to take 3 classes in the fall. Does 7000, 7300, and 7270 (trauma informed librarianship) sound like an okay workload?

  2. Are classes easier if they are taken in the summer or should certain classes not be taken in the summer?

  3. Are there any professors or classes that were really great for you? Are there any to stay away from? Why?

  4. When can the capstone be taken?

  5. I think I am mostly interested in cataloging. If you took any of these classes, we're they super useful?

  6. What is one thing you wish you would have known?

Thank you soooo much for any information!
