Partner denied for "strong ties to Canada" how to prove ties to Mexico?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice for my partner’s second attempt at a Canadian Visitor Visa. He was denied last year because the officer said he had "strong ties to Canada" (I am Canadian and we have a 9-month-old daughter together who is also Canadian). We are currently living in Mexico.
We really need to prove his ties to Mexico this time, but we have a few hurdles:
1.Work: He owns his own mechanic shop, but it’s mostly "under the table." He gets paid in cash and doesn't have an official business sign or tax registration yet.
2.Family: His parents and extended family are all here in Mexico.
3.Property: We rent our place and have utility bills in his name.
What kind of unconventional "proof" can we show for a cash-based business? Would letters from frequent customers, photos of him at the shop, or copies of our rent/water bills be enough to show he isn't planning to stay in Canada?
Any tips from people who successfully overcame a "strong ties" denial would be so appreciated!
