I’ve been on a GLP-1 journey for nearly two years now, originally starting on Ozempic before switching over to Tirzepatide. Despite the long timeframe, I’m actually up in weight rather than down. It feels like I’m somehow "immune" to the benefits everyone else talks about.
I’m trying to figure out where I’m going wrong and have a few theories:
• Consistency: I really struggle to take my shot at the same time or even the same day every week. Could being "hit or miss" with the schedule completely stall my progress?
• Activity Levels: I’m a college student, so life is hectic. I get about 7,000 steps a day and my Apple Watch says I’m hitting 30 minutes of exercise with a 500-calorie active burn, but I often feel like I should be doing more.
• Diet: Compared to most people my age, I feel like I eat relatively healthy, yet the scale just isn't budging.
Has anyone else experienced this "immunity" to the medication? I’d love to hear if tightening up my injection schedule made a difference for you, or if I need to look deeper into other factors. Any advice would be appreciated!
Side note: my period is still irregular (pretty much don’t have one at this point), and I’ve been tested for thyroid issues but currently not taking any medication for it.
