My husband told me today that there’s no marriage or sex in heaven, and honestly it’s left me feeling unexpectedly distraught.

I know this comes from what Jesus said: “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.” — Matthew 22:30

I understand the theological point being made, but emotionally I’m struggling with it. I love my husband deeply. What we have feels perfect to me, and the thought that our relationship would somehow be “transformed” into something else in heaven makes me sad rather than comforted.

Has anyone else wrestled with this? How do you personally understand Jesus’ words here without feeling like earthly love stories just disappear?
