Looking to plan a birthday ride somewhere along the beach, 30-40 miles. I’ll be coming from uptown and we’re thinking of taking the train out and riding the whole way back. I’ve never ridden that far out in Brooklyn/queens so I’m all ears on tips/routes! It will be a small group of 3, would love to stop for food along the way so food recs also appreciated 🙏🏼
Curious to know which route would be safest (meaning less car traffic/more protected bike lanes) to get from the Hudson River greenway to the central Park loop? I’ve done it a few times with a more experienced rider and we usually get off at 72nd and cut across but the traffic and double parked cars always makes me super uneasy. Hoping there’s a calmer route for me to ride on my own. I know there’s a big push to add a bike lane on 72nd and I’m super happy about that but understand that won’t happen overnight. 🙏🏼
