Trying to work out what is wrong with me.
Notes I have taken:
• For several years I was treated as having migraines after first seeking medical help as a teenager.
• However, on reflection, I believe these episodes have been occurring since childhood.
• Growing up, I would occasionally experience sudden “weird” feelings or episodes but did not understand how to describe them properly to my parents.
• If I mentioned them, they were generally brushed off or not investigated further.
• Looking back, the episodes appear similar in pattern to the ones I still experience now.
Historic episodes/symptoms:
• Episodes often came on suddenly and included:
• Feeling “spaced out” or detached
• Sudden intense anxiety/fear sensation
• Difficulty concentrating
• Difficulty finding words
• I usually remained conscious and aware during episodes.
• Some past episodes were significantly stronger than recent ones.
Symptoms during stronger past episodes:
• Sudden nausea/sick feeling
• Gagging/retching without vomiting
• Complete loss of appetite
• Complete loss of libido
• Strong sense that something neurological was happening
• Symptoms came on abruptly and felt distinct from normal anxiety
GP Referred me to neurology due to concerning symptoms may be seizure-related rather than migraine.
I have had a EEG and MRI with a result saying i have a cyst but nothing major but waiting to see the neurologist doctor to talk about these results.
My mum only felt like telling me now I had epilepsy seizures as a child whilst I was going through chemotherapy but wasn't diagnosed with having epilepsy on its own as they feel like it was due to the amount of treatment my body was having to take on at the time. (Thanks mum could have known this fact sooner ha il be telling that to the neurologist when finally get to see them).
