Food Service feels Ruined for me
As the title suggests, I’m feeling hopeless about my prospects in the industry. I’ve been struggling for months to land a good job after quitting one where I and the rest of the staff were being abused by management (look up ouma/polly’s, theres multiple threads in brooklyn/crown heights reddits). Multiple places have strung me along like they were going to hire me then canceled at the very last second. One spot I worked a whole shift then they told me the “position was filled” and I’m currently having to chase down getting paid. I’m so burnt out by unprofessional behavior from business owners that I’m losing faith in work I otherwise have found really fun and fulfilling. I want to believe theres good places out there but…right now its not looking good.
