What are the questions to ask a recruiter so you can tell if they’re the real deal?

I’ve engaged a few recruiters to wildly varied results and I find that I have a hard time gauging off an initial call if they’re someone with the skills expertise and connections needed.

Would love to hear what people think you should ask right off the bat so you know what you’re signing up for.
